Welcome to the LIANZA research register. This is a database of research projects relevant to New Zealand librarians and information managers, using the following definition of research:

“Research is a process of enquiry with clearly defined parameters that aims to:

  • discover new knowledge,
  • test and revise existing knowledge, or,
  • investigate a problem for local decision making.”

People are encouraged to report on: case studies, user surveys, action research, focus groups, statistics kept and how they are used, and performance measurement.

This wiki is now password-protected. If you would like to add a new project or change an existing one, please contact Brenda Chawner (brenda.chawner@vuw.ac.nz) for the password.

Entering a new project

Have a look at an existing project to see how it’s done. You will need to know how to make a Wiki Word and a free link. Then…

To enter a new project:
  1. Edit This Page and add the project’s short title (as a Wiki Word) to the list of Projects by short title
  2. preview the page, check the contents, then save it
  3. click on the ? and enter the data using the template as a model, replacing the instructions on the template with your data
  4. preview, check, and save the page
  5. Why do some project Key Words also show links to other projects? Because ….

The Form Template page sets out the default layout for new projects. It is the source of the instructions you see when you edit the page of a new project.

If you would rather have someone else enter your project, please email
